Come Visit the UAC Booth at the International Sportsmen's Expo, March 15 to 18, 2007, at the South Towne Expo Center
The ISE show is well-known as the place to go to find out what's new and what's exciting in Utah angling. Once again, the UAC booth will feature all of the great and diverse groups who come together to make our organization strong. We thank the ISE sponsors for the opportunity to hear from Utah's anglers and educate people about who we are and how our participants impact fishing opportunities in our state.
Hope to see you there!

The Utah Anglers Coalition joins the rest of Utah's wildlife community in mourning the passing of Doug Miller on August 20, 2006.
Doug was a rare giant (both physically and figuratively) in the broadcast industry whose audience extended far beyond any specific interest groups. His personality and dedication made friends out of all he came in personal contact with, as well as his viewers who invited Doug and his show into their homes on Saturday nights. He has left an amazing legacy and we will miss him.
Our heartfelt condolences to Doug's family and those close to Doug.

A PCB advisory was issued advising anglers to limit their consumption of Utah Lake Carp. While not many anglers eat carp, this could also mean bad news for other species in the lake.

UAC Helps Secure DWR Funding From Legislature
to Head Off License Increases . . . For Now
The UAC worked with its participating groups and others during the 2006 Legislative session in a successful push to help resolve the emergency DWR funding shortfall. The DWR funding package passed by the Legislature included significant funds from the state's general fund. The package included funding for the Midway Fish Hatchery, habitat and watershed projects and capital improvements.
This joint effort secured adequate short term money and some ongoing funding to allow the DWR to operate for the next year without raising license fees. It must be stressed, however, that this package is only a stopgap measure to gain time to research and implement long-term solutions.
Read the text of a letter from DWR Director Jim Karpowitz for details. Watch this site for more information.
